What are Personal Care Services?
Personal Care Services, as defined by the Georgia Department of Community Health for Private Home Care Providers, involve hands-on assistance with daily activities that clients may struggle to perform independently. These services include bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and assistance with mobility. Personal care aides may also help with managing medications, transferring clients from bed to chair, and monitoring vital signs when needed. The goal of personal care services is to maintain the client's dignity, independence, and overall well-being while ensuring they receive the necessary support in their home environment.
